Abstract:
To provide a reducing material capable of lowering a temperature required for the reduction reaction of a metal oxide to a lower temperature, a method for producing the reducing material, and a method for reducing the metal oxide.SOLUTION: A reducing material comprises a carbonized plant. A method for producing the reducing material comprises a carbonization step of carbonizing a cut plant by heating the cut plant to 200 to 450°C. The plant may be a plant of the rush family and further comprises a non-carbonized plant. A method for reducing a metal oxide using the reducing material comprises a step of stirring a mixture containing the reducing material and the metal oxide and heating the obtained mixture.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
