PURPOSE: To make the heating chamber, etc. unnecessary and simple, by composing the titled apparatus of a vertical hollow body structure packed with reducing agent, and providing a well part to which crude molten metal after reduction is allowed to flow out and can be recovered to lower part of the hollow body.
CONSTITUTION: The structure of the titled apparatus is composed of the vertical hollow body 1 having a cokes packed bed 4, and the part 2 then a discharging part 3 are provided to the lower part. A tuyere 6 for preheating at starting time is provided at lower part of the body 1 and above the part 2. Crude copper is thrown into the body 1 from upper part, copper reduced at the bed 4 is collected to the part 2 at lower part and sent to casting apparatus from the part 3.
