Title:
REDUCTION OF AGGLOMERATION TENDENCY OF HYDRATE IN PRODUCTION EFFLUENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3944610
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the agglomeration tendency of hydrates in a production effluent economically.
CONSTITUTION: This is a method for reducing the agglomeration tendency of hydrates within a fluid incorporating water and hydrocarbons liable to form hydrates, under conditions that the hydrates may be formed, and into the fluid, an alkylene oxide-based water-soluble polymer or copolymer (e.g. polyethylene glycol monoether, ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymer) containing (OR)n sequence (R represents a hydrocarbon group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, (n) represents the average degree of polymerization of the sequence, and at least one of the (OR)m sequences is an ethylene polyoxide sequence) is incorporated, in combination with a thermodynamic inhibitor (e.g. methanol) against the formation of hydrates.
