Abstract:
To provide a box-shaped reduction furnace with a heat treatment part connected to a treatment object storage part, which enables the efficient loading and unloading of the treatment object into and out of the reduction furnace, during the ongoing reduction treatment, while suppressing a decrease in temperature inside the heat treatment part.SOLUTION: A reduction furnace 1 includes: a box-shaped heat treatment part 11 that heats a treatment object to perform reduction treatment; and a box-shaped treatment object storage part 21 that is connected to a side face of the heat treatment part 11 through a damper 111. When the damper 111 is closed, notches 113 of the damper 111 engage with guide grooves 131, 231 formed on the floor surfaces of the heat treatment part 11 and the treatment object storage part 21, leading to the formation of a through-hole 15 that allows the insertion of a handle part of a ladle for treatment object input.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4A
