Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the amplitude fluctuating noise by mixing the amplitude modulation signal to be recorded with the signal with the carrier given the 90°-phase turn, detecting the amplitude fluctuating component at the reproducing time and then giving the amplitude modulation to the reproduction output signal with its adverse phase.

CONSTITUTION: In case the video signal is recorded, the phase inversion is given with every hour to the carrier output of the synchronous detection to be added with the carrier output. This output signal receives the carrier reduction amplitude modulation to secure the balanced state at the silence time. Then the carrier featuring the fixed amplitude with the 90°-phase shift is applied to the output along with compounding to the luminance signal for recording on the magnetic tape. In the case of the reproduction processing, the synchronous detection is given to the pilot signal which received the frequency conversion through synchronous detector 59 in order to deliver the amplitude fluctuating noise. Using this output as the control signal, the reduction is given to the amplitude fluctuating noise through variable gain amplifier 61. This output in then supplied to the comb-line filter consisting of 1H-dealy line 63, subtractor 64 and adder 65 each, and thus two color signals received the balanced modulation are obtained with frequency separation from subtractor 64 and adder 65 each.
