Abstract:
To provide a reduction method using hydrogen gas which enables reduction to be performed at lower temperatures, and reduced iron powder which can be produced by the method.SOLUTION: An oxide is reduced using hydrogen gas while a water vapor amount in the atmosphere is reduced by a moisture absorbent. The oxide is preferably an oxide including transition metal. The moisture absorbent preferably includes at least one of calcium, calcium chloride, calcium hydride, calcium sulfate, calcium oxide, copper sulfate, hydrogenated lithium aluminum, magnesium oxide, magnesium perchlorate, magnesium sulfate, zeolite, diphosphorus pentoxide, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, silica gel, sodium sulfate and a sulfuric acid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
