To reduce and remove nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas with high denitration effects by using a fuel oil catalytic cracking catalyst and a nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst in specified combination.
In a reductive removing method for nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas containing excess oxygen, a fuel oil catalytic cracking catalyst A and a nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst B are used in combination of (1) or (2) given below. (1) The catalyst A is an active metal carrying faujasite type zeolite catalyst, and the catalyst B is selected from a platinum carrying mordenite type zeolite catalyst, a copper carrying ZSM-5 type zeolite catalyst, and a copper carrying type zeolite catalyst. (2) The catalyst A is selected from an active metal carrying mordenite type zeolite catalyst, a ZSM-5 type zeolite catalyst, and a type zeolite catalyst, and the catalyst B is selected from a cerium carrying mordenite type zeolite catalyst, a copper carrying ZSM-5 type zeolite catalyst, and a copper carrying type zeolite catalyst.
