To provide a redundant switch assuring safe operation in a very short period.
A slide 16 is movable in the housing in the same two opposing directions as an actuator 12 and is coupled to the actuator 12 by two antagonistic compression springs 28a, 28b with clearance in both directions of movement. This redundant switch includes a latching track 18 with at least two latching notches, which are spaced from each other along the directions of movement. At least two switch units 26a, 26b are arranged one beside the other for simultaneous actuation by the slide 16. A latching cam 22 is movably guided on the slide 16 perpendicular to directions of translational movement of the slide 16, and is energized towards the latching track 18 by the compression springs 28a, 28b. The latching notch in cooperation with the latching cam 22 defines an actuation position of the slide 16 in which the slide 16 actuates the switch units 26a, 26b.
