Title:
REED FOR AIR-JET LOOM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000355856
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To increase the flying stability of the weft in an air jet loom and lower the running cost by utilizing the air jet flow from the auxiliary nozzle efficiently for transferring the weft.

In the reed for an air jet loom in which the air guide 5 in the form of transverse grooves is formed on the front face of the reed 2, an inclined lower edge 8 is provided at the middle of the air guide to the edge part on the contrary side of the main nozzle. The inclined lower edge 8 has transverse grooves of which the width H is rapidly expanded downward on the main nozzle side, while it is gradually narrowed toward the contrary side of the main nozzle. The inclined lower edges 8 are formed, preferably two or more, at an interval corresponding to the arrangement interval of the auxiliary air jet nozzles and parallel grooves 9 are formed between the inclined lower edge and the adjacent inclined lower edge 8. Thus, the energy loss caused by diffusion of the air jet flows from the auxiliary nozzles can be minimized and the air jet direction can be brought closer to the weft-flying direction.
