Abstract:
To provide a fine and long reed fine fiber capable of producing fine spun yarns by reed alone or by blending with cotton or other natural fibers, which is suitable for use of a sustainably reproducible natural resource in an industrial textile product.SOLUTION: There is provided a technology to obtain: a reed fine fiber; a fine fiber spun yarn; a blended yarn combined with a natural fiber; an antibacterial reed fine fiber immersed in bamboo extract or hinoki-thiol aqueous solution; and a non-woven fabric of the spun yarn and the blended yarn, as well as reed fine fibers alone or in combination with other fibers, in which the reed fine fiber is obtained by: crushing a stem (trunk) of a reed by using a roller or the like; compressing, using two steel rollers, the stem softened by either as is or being pretreated with water bath, bio-letting, chemical retching, steaming, or blasting with superheated steam, or a combination thereof; separating and dividing a vascular bundle sheath and soft cells in the stem; causing a plurality of cracks along single fibers that make up a vascular sheath within the vascular bundle sheath; and then removing the fiber from the vascular bundle sheath of the reed by a hair-removing machine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
