Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a fishing reel having excellent braking performance and improved safety.
CONSTITUTION: This fishing reel is constructed of a spool 1, a bail 2, a handle 3, a braking mechanism 6 composed of a braking plate 4 and a contacting plate 5 placed adjacent to the braking plate 4 to contact with or separate from the braking plate 4, a hydraulic tube 8 placed adjacent to the contacting plate 5 and containing a hydraulic oil 7 in the tube, a brake lever 9 to control the pressing power on the hydraulic tube 8 and adjust the pressing force of the contacting plate 5 against the braking plate 4 via the hydraulic tube 8, a dragging mechanism 10 to apply a pressure to the hydraulic tube 8 to constantly press the contacting plate 5 against the braking plate 4 under a preset pressure and a locking mechanism 11 to allow the rotation of the handle 3 exclusively in the winding direction of a fishing line in locked state and in the normal and reverse directions in released state.
