PURPOSE: To cut a sheet positively so as to be rewound onto a new spool by spraying air from air nozzles, provided at the center and both sides of a drum, onto the travel sheet with a slit provided at its center part, immediately in front of a reel drum.
CONSTITUTION: Taken-up material wound around an old spool 5 is in contact with the side face of a reel drum 3. A paper roll 9 is provided on the insert side of the travel sheet 1 of the reel drum 3, and a cut knife 2 is provided right in front of the reel drum 3. A new spool 6 is disposed above the reel drum 3, and a board 12 is provided above the new spool 6. The board 12 is provided with an air nozzle 7 with a multiple-branch tip at the center thereof, and air nozzles 11 moved in the width direction on both sides thereof. The sheet 1 with a slit made by the knife 2 is brought into contact with the drum 3 to pass between the drum 3 and the new spool 6, separated at its tip from the drum 3 with air from the nozzle 7, wound around the new spool 6, and cut completely with air from the nozzles 11. Spool change can be thereby performed easily.
