To provide a reference plate which can reliably function as a reference point and which is used for creating a horizontal substrate surface on a floor substrate.
This reference plate 1 fixed to the floor slab surface S of a building skeleton is disposed on a reference point P marked on the floor slab surface S, has a height h so that the top end surface 1a thereof is positioned at a predicted horizontal level L of the surface 4a of the floor substrate 4 laid down on the floor slab surface S. A positioning part R positioned generally just above the reference point P is provided to the top end surface 1a. The reference plate 1 is formed cylindrically, and comprises a through-hole 2 through which a screw 3 screwed into the floor slab 5 at the reference point P penetrates. The through-hole 2 extends in the direction perpendicular to the top end surface 1a between the mutually parallel top end surface 1a and the bottom surface 1b. The opening of the through-hole 2 on the top end surface 1a side corresponds to the positioning part R.
