Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reference position determination method of a rotary input device capable of correcting a reference position, becoming a reference when calculating the rotation amount of an operation body, at any time.SOLUTION: In a rotary input device including an operation body 11 being operated by an operator, a support 13 for supporting the operation body 11 rotatably, a rotational load giving mechanism for giving a rotational load to the operation body 11 for every predetermined rotational angle of the operation body 11, rotation detection means for detecting the rotational operation of the operation body 11, and a determination unit H6 for calculating the rotation amount of the operation body 11 from the detection results of the rotation detection means, the determination unit H6 determines the stop position of the operation body 11 as a reference position, after rotational operation of the operation body 11 is performed, stores the reference position in a storage unit J6, and determines the state of the operation body 11 by the rotation amount from the reference position thus stored, in the reference position determination method.
