Abstract:
To provide a method for refining an Al alloy by which refining at high reducing level of degassing and removal of inclusion can be executed and a nonhalogen flux for refining molten metal of the Al alloy.
The flux comprising a simple substance of potassium sulfate is blown in the molten bath of Al or the Al alloy by using an inert gas as a carrier gas and degassing and skimming of the molten metal are executed and, further, the molten metal is supplied to a casting mold from a melting furnace through a trough for transporting the molten metal to execute casting. Further nonhalogen flux for refining the molten metal of the Al alloy is made to the simple substance of potassium sulfate.
