Title:
REFINING METHOD FOR GOLD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6417826
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce high pure gold easily refined without producing exhaust gas by melting material gold in the use of iodine or iodine compound, converting the soln. into strong alkali after the removal of impurities, reducing and depositing gold and separating it from the soln.

CONSTITUTION: The material gold is melted by iodine and/or iodine compound such as KI to form the soln. contg. the iodine compound of gold. Said soln. is more preferably formed by bringing the material gold into reaction with iodine and/or iodine compound. The unmolten products in said soln. are then removed by filtration or sedimentation. The soln. after the removal of the unmolten products is converted into strong alkali of ≥12pH by using KOH, etc. By this method, the ions contg. gold in said soln. are selectively reduced to deposit good. After that, the soln. and gold are separated by centrifugal separation method and high pure gold is obtd. in high yield.
