Abstract:
To provide a method for efficiently producing ferronickel by suppressing the quality deterioration of reducing substance in a refining method for producing ferronickel by reduction of a mixture including nickel oxide ore.SOLUTION: This invention relates to ferronickel production by reduction of a mixture including nickel oxide ore and a carbonaceous reductant. The production method includes a process of mixing the nickel oxide ore with the carbonaceous reductant and a process of charging the mixture in a reduction furnace to carry out a reduction treatment. In a reduction process, a furnace comprising a heat treatment part 11 and a charcoal throwing part 21 connected to the heat treatment part 11 is used as a reduction furnace 1. In process of the reduction treatment, the mixture is moved from the heat treatment part 11 to the charcoal throwing part 21 to additionally supply the above reductant to the mixture and after that, is moved again to the heat treatment part 11 to carry out the reduction treatment. The additional supply of the reductant at the charcoal throwing part 21 is carried out by rotating a reductant storing vessel 4 provided on top of the charcoal throwing part 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
