Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the loss of signals that caused by their passing through a circuit system and also to miniaturize and integrate a reflection-type phase shifter in its simple circuit configuration by connecting (m) stages of passing phase shift circuit parts in series to each other, to selectively give phase changes to the signals passing bidirectionally and connecting a reflect-type phase shift circuit part to the final stage of the passing phase shift circuit, so as selectively give the phase changes to the input signals and send them back.
SOLUTION: This reflection-type phase sifter consists of passing phase shift circuit parts 51 and 52 of loaded line types, for example, containing double terminal pair circuits connected in series and a PIN diode 53 serving as a reflective phase shift circuit part. Both parts 51 and 52 are set at the phase shift degrees of 45 and 22.5 bits repetitively, and the diode 53 selectively causes a 180-degree phase change in the signals sent from the part 52 and then sends them back. As a result, the reflection-type phase shift circuit part is obtained by means of the diode 53 with a simple circuit constitution. Then the signals do not pass twice through the diode 43, and thereby the loss of the signals can be decreased.
