PURPOSE: To easily automate a changeover switch, by inserting a male optical connector, which has a light reflecting part at the tip, between faces butting to each other of a female connector, where tips of two optical fibers are butted to each other, through a spring.
CONSTITUTION: A male connector is so constituted that a part or the whole of the light incident to a light reflecting part 1 is reflected and is led to a light incidence end face 2 and is emitted to an optical fiber 3. The male connector is inserted between faces butting to each other of a female connector, where optical fibers 3' and 3" are butted to each other at a point 7, against springs 6'. Though the whole of the light propagated in the optical fiber 3' is led to the optical fiber 3" before insertion of the male connector, the light propagated in the optical fiber 3' is reflected by the light reflecting part 1 and is propagated to the optical fiber 3 after insertion of the male connector. Thus, a changeover switch is automated easily.
