Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of the tip parts of reaction tubes by installing plate bodies made of a porous solid in the upper ends of inner pipes regarding a reformer constituted by vertically installing a plurality of the reaction tubes in a heating chamber having a burning means in an upper side and housing the inner pipe in the inside of the reaction tubes while setting a catalyst between them.
SOLUTION: Reaction tubes 3 are vertically and uprightly installed in a heating chamber of this reforming apparatus and in the insides of the reaction tubes 3, inner tubes 4 are concentrically installed and tip parts 5 shaped into a dome-like shape are fixed in the upper ends of the reaction tube 3. In this case, plate-like bodies 15 formed into a circular shape from a metal net laminated material, which is a porous solid, made of a heat resistant steel are attached to the upper end parts 4a of the inner tubes 4. That is, the plate-like bodies 15 are so installed as to bring the outer circumference of the bodies into contact with the inner circumference of the reaction tubes 3. The circular gas flow routes 16a defined by the reaction tubes 3 and the inner tubes 4 are filled with a catalyst 16. In such a manner, by installing the plate-like bodies 15, the temperature in the tip parts of the reaction tubes is lowered and the durability of the tip parts of the reaction tubes can be improved.
