To provide a reforming apparatus capable of efficiently reforming a feedstock gas by sufficiently performing a catalytic reaction.
The reactor is a reforming apparatus provided with a housing 5 having an inlet 6 for feeding a feedstock gas and an exit 7 for discharge and a catalyst structure 8 placed in the housing 5, provided with a catalyst, and reforming the fed feedstock gas by a catalytic reaction, wherein the catalyst structure 8 is prepared by supporting a metal catalyst on a heat-resistant fiber while forming the combination into a sheet, and the housing 5 is provided with a holding member 9 having ribs 9a to 9c which hold a laminate of the sheet catalyst structures and diffuse the feedstock gas fed from the inlet 6 into the housing 5.
