Abstract:
To provide a reforming device and a reforming method for by-product gas of a steel plant each of which allows for reforming of by-product gas of the steel plant while utilizing sensible heat and waste heat that are not utilized in the steel plant, thereby allowing for generation of fuel gas.SOLUTION: The reforming device for by-product gas of a steel plant is provided that includes: an electric field application catalytic reactor which generates carbon monoxide and hydrogen by reacting methane included in coke oven gas with carbon dioxide included in the by-product gas of a steel plant; and an exhaust heat supplying device which supplies exhaust heat generated from the steel plant to a heat use. The heat use is at least one of the electric field application catalytic reactor and a heat exchanger which heats gaseous starting material. The reforming method for by-product gas of a steel plant using the reforming device is also provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
