CONSTITUTION: This refractive index-distribution type polymer clad optical fiber consists of a quartz core having distributed refractive index and a clad comprising a polymer tightly adhering around the core. In this fiber, the clad consists of a hard polymer having 2.05×10-4 to 2.95×10-4/deg coefft. of linear thermal expansion and ≥60 Shore hardness, and the clad has 5 to 30μm thickness.
