To provide a refractory material for tapping hole which can reduce labor, can be automated, can reduce the deposition of adhering slag, and can make work smoother by providing void sections in the inner layer section of the nozzle made of the refractory material for the tapping hole and containing a carbonaceous material, such as the tar, pitch, etc., having a volatile component in a hot state in the void sections or the texture of the refractory material.
Void sections 1 are provided in the tapping hole of a nozzle and the inner layer section of the nozzle made of a refractory material for tapping hole. One kind or two or more kinds selected from among tar, pitch, asphalt, resin, etc., containing volatile components and carbonaceous material are contained in the void section 1 and the texture of the refractory material of the nozzle. In addition, the void sections 1 which contain the carbonaceous materials containing volatile components are positioned closely to the internal wall section 3 of the tapping hole of the nozzle. Since the carbonaceous material is liquefied and gasified upon receiving the heat of a molten metal and the liquid and gas are spouted into the tapping hole of the nozzle when the material is used, the internal surface of the tapping hole is protected by a gas sealing phenomenon or the liquid coating the internal surface. Therefore, the erosion of the refractory material and the adhesion of slag, etc., to the material can be reduced.
