To provide a refrigerant compressing device capable of continuously operating even when a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor drive power supply device breaks down in the refrigerant compressing device driving a compressing mechanism part by the permanent magnet synchronous electric motor.
The refrigerant compressing device has a compression mechanism 4 accommodated in an airtight container 1 and compressing the refrigerant, and an electric motor part 10 driving the compression mechanism 4. The electric motor part 10 is equipped with a stator 12 having a coil 13 connected to an external power supply, and a rotor 11 having short circuit rings 31A, 31B which short-cut the permanent magnets 18, 19 and a plurality of conductor bars 32 and each conductor bar provided inside an iron core 30 as well as connected to the compression mechanism 4 arranged opposing to the stator 12 through a shaft 6.
