To recover a refrigerant in a refrigeration cycle quickly in the case wherein a cooled refrigerant leaks by providing an adsorbent for adsorbing a combustible refrigerant at the time of leakage of the refrigerant.
A refrigerant is discharged from a compressor 1 as a high pressure gas refrigerant, and then is cooled and liquefied in a condenser 2, and is decompressed by a decompressor device 4 so as to be changed into a low pressure liquid refrigerant and then the low pressure liquid refrigerant absorbs heat in an evaporator 3 to be changed into a low pressure gas refrigerant, which is then sucked by the compressor 1. A refrigerant recovery device 5 is connected to this refrigeration cycle system and is provided with an adsorbent filled part 8 therein. In this adsorbent filled part 8 an adsorbent 9 having at least a capability of adsorbing a refrigerant such as zeolite, activated carbon or the like is provided in an interior of the adsorbent filled part 8. The adsorbent filled part 8 is connected with a refrigerant pipe 6 via an on-off valve 7 between the adsorbent filled part 8 and the refrigerant pipe 6. If the refrigerant leaks, the on-off valve is opened so as to allow the refrigerant to be adsorbed by the adsorbent 9 filled in the adsorbent filled part 8.
