PURPOSE: To enable complete recovery of a refrigerant in a short time through simple structure and operation by a method wherein the oil content separator and the recovery tank of a refrigerant recovery device are connected to the charge value of a freezing cycle, and the recovery tank is cooled by using a proper cooling means.

CONSTITUTION: During scrapping of a vehicle 100, a piping 410 of a refrigerant recovery device 400 is connected to high and low pressure charge values 214 and 215 of a freezing cycle 200. Meanwhile, a refrigerant recovery tank 450 is mounted in a vessel 460, and through utilization of dry ice 470, the refrigerant recovery tank 450 is cooled. In which case, valves 420 and 440 are opened and a refrigerant in the freezing cycle 200 is caused to flow out from the high and low charge valves 214 and 215 of the freezing cycle 200 and forced to flow in a filter 431 in an oil content separator 430. By the passage of it through the filter, impurities are removed and oil is separated from a refrigerant and is stored at the bottom of the oil content separator 430. The refrigerant from which an oil content is separated away is forced to pass through the valve 440 and stored in the refrigerant recovery tank 450.
