Abstract:
PURPOSE: To precisely recognize a character written in a character frame printed by means of a non-drop-out color.
CONSTITUTION: A picture input part 8 reading the picture of a part which is previously decided by slip design, an outline tracing part 4 tracing an outline with a black picture element as a start end from all the black picture elements touching the inner periphery of the character frame 2, which are detected in a character frame detection part 3, toward the inner part of the character frame 2, an outline direction line arithmetic part 5 operating the direction of an outline forming picture element obtained by the outline tracing part 4 and a character part extraction part 7 setting the crossing lines of outline direction lines in the character frame 2 to be black/white boundary lines, converting the character frame 2 except for an area surrounded by the black/white boundary lines into a white picture element and extracting a character 6 part from an interference part with the character frame 2 are provided.
