This refrigerating cycle is provided with a compressor 11, a radiator 12, the expansion machine 13 and an evaporator 14. The compressor 11 pressurizes a refrigerant by driving a compressing mechanism-side rotating shaft 37 by an engine Eg. The radiator 12 cools the refrigerant pressurized by the compressor 11. The expansion machine 13 takes out the power to the compressing mechanism-side rotating shaft 37 by depressurizing and expanding the refrigerant cooled by the radiator 12. The evaporator 14 heats the refrigerant depressurized and expanded by the expansion machine 13. The expansion machine 13 is provided with a discharge rate variable mechanism for varying the discharge rate of the expansion machine 13 per one rotation of the compressing mechanism-side rotating shaft 37.
