To provide a refrigerating cycle device of high efficiency and high reliability, using an expander.
This refrigerating cycle device comprises a refrigerating cycle composed of a compressor 501 compressing a refrigerant, a radiator 502 cooling the compressed refrigerant, the expander 503 expanding the refrigerant, and an evaporator 504 evaporating the expanded refrigerant, and a control circuit composed of a permanent magnet-type synchronous generator 507 connected with the expander 503, and a variable-speed convertor 508 converting AC electric power output from the permanent magnet-type synchronous generator 507 to output DC electric power, and controlling driving of the permanent magnet type synchronous generator 507. By controlling the variable speed convertor 508 or an invertor 506 so that electric power of the generator is not over electric power of a motor, abnormal rise of a voltage value of a DC power portion as an output side can be inhibited, and the refrigerating cycle device of high reliability and high efficiency free from destruction of components can be provided.
