Title:
REFRIGERATOR DOOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3480078
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the contact condition between flanges and the peripheral edge part of the inner face plate of a door so as to eliminate the leakage of a foamed heat-insulating material by making a mere partial change of the shape of the flange on the outer face plate of the door for a refrigerator.
CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator door comprises a steel-made outer face plate 3 having flanges 9 at the rear ends of upper, lower, right and left side faces, a resin-made inner face plate 4 having its inner peripheral part 8 held in contact with the flanges 9 of the outer face plate 3, a gasket attached to a U-shaped groove 10 formed in the inner face plate 4 and a foam heat insulating material etc. filled between the outer face plate 3 and the inner face plate 4. In such a door 2 as this, each flange 9 of the outer face plate 3 is made wide at its central part and narrow at both the ends thereof to thereby eliminate the deformation of the flange 9 tending to occur at the time of fabricating the door and, by the elimination of the flange deformation, the contact condition between the flange 9 and the peripheral edge part of the inner face plate 4 is improved and, therefore, the leakage of the foamed heat-insulating material is eliminated.
