To facilitate opening of a door by a method wherein outside air is caused to flow in a refrigerator right before opening of a door and pressures inside and outside the refrigerator are made in equilibrium with each other.

A refrigerator comprises a handle 20 having a first end 24 of a handle 20 rotatably arranged at the front of a door 112 of the refrigerator through a hinge 21; an air passage 30 formed in a given portion of the front of the door 112, corresponding to a second end 26 of the handle 20 such that outside air flows right before the door 112 is opened; an expandable closing member 40 coupled to the second end 26 of the dandle 20 such that the closing member is inserted in the air passage 30 and during an ordinary time, closes the air passage 30 and the handle is pulled right before opening of the door 112 to release the air passage 30; and a reticular body 50 supporting the closing member coupled to the second end of the closing member 40 such that the closing member 40 is pulled when the door 12 is opened.
