In the operation control method of the refrigerator 1 for land transportation, plural evaporator units 13A, 13B are connected in parallel with each other to a refrigerant circuit 10 circulating a refrigerant by a compressor 11 driven by an engine for vehicle traveling, and a plurality of different transportation temperatures can be produced per refrigeration compartment. It is provided with a simultaneous operation control mode carrying out total simultaneous operation of evaporator units with operation demands, and a switching operation control mode of outputting operation permission only to one evaporator unit when there are operation demands to plural evaporator units, and sequentially switching the driven evaporator units and operating them one by one. Mode switching control is provided for selecting one from the simultaneous operation control mode and the switching operation control mode most advantageous in response to an operation situation and carrying out operation.
