PURPOSE: For storing perishables for a long period of time, to minimize the water vaporization rate of storage goods by providing a moisture absorbing layer made of a moisture absorber in the inner face of the inner box of the refrigerator whose closed chamber is cooled indirectly.

CONSTITUTION: When a blower fan 8 is driven, the air cooled at the storage chamber 6 of the cooler 7 formed in an insulating partition wall la is fed to refrigerant chamber 2 and high-moisture storage chamber 3 side through a cool air duct 9 and a cool air circulation duct 10. A moisture absorbing layer 12 made of a high moisture absorptivity material is provided in the inner face of the inner box 13 of the high-moisture storage chamber 3 cooled indirectly by the heat exchange plate 11 for making the inside of said storage chamber 3 and cool air circulation duct 10 thermally relevant to each other. Thereby, the water drops generated in said storage chamber 3 on indirect cooling are temporarily stored in said moisture absorbing layer 12. When the humidity of said storage chamber 3 has fallen, therefore, the moisture of said moisture absorbing layer 12 evaporates correspondingly to this fall. Thus, said storage chamber 3 is constantly kept at a high humidity.
