The refrigerator comprises a refrigerator body 210 a plate 250 for partitioning the refrigerator body 210 into a refrigerating room 240 and a freezing room 230 having an upper surface provided, at the forward thereof, with a plurality of exhaust holes 255 and a lower surface provided, at the forward thereof, with a plurality of first holes communicating with the plurality of exhaust holes 255 and passing chill from the freezing room 230 into the refrigerating room 240, a hot air blocking unit 260 for forming an air curtain 245 by opening the plurality of first holes upon opening the door of the refrigerating room 240 and removing the air curtain 245 upon closure of the door, a fan assembly 215 fixed to the rear of the freezing room 230 in order to circulate chill from the freezing room 230 smoothly through the refrigerating room 240, and a switch for driving the fan assembly 215 upon opening the door of refrigerating room 240 and stopping the fan assembly 215 upon closure of the door. The hot air blocking unit 260 of the refrigerator 200 blocks hot air effectively through a simple structure.
