To obtain a fan-cooled refrigerator in which noise is lowered while enhancing energy saving performance.
When a mixed flow fan 23 is employed as a fan disposed above an evaporator 22 and passing air in a storage compartment 14 through ducts 18 and 19 to the evaporator 22, rotational speed can be lowered and separation on the surface of the blade 24b of an impeller 24 can be reduced by using it at the time point of design. Consequently, noise can be reduced greatly when a required volume of air is produced. Since rotational speed of the mixed flow fan 23 can be increased within the range where noise can be reduced, heat exchanging quantity of the evaporator 22 is increased by increasing the volume of air being circulated and energy can be saved more than conventional level.
