To provide a refrigerator capable of accurately detecting whether the freshness of a vegetable is lowered or not by an atmosphere sensor.
A vegetable compartment temperature sensor 30 for detecting temperature of the vegetable 12 and the atmosphere sensor 24 for detecting gas constituents emitted from a contained matter are disposed in the vegetable compartment 12. A temperature correcting means 33 for correcting the ambient temperature detected by the sensor is provided between the sensor 24 and a controller means 32 for controlling the electric output of the sensor 24. The sensor 30 and the atmosphere sensor are disposed on the same board 31a to constitute a sensor assembly 31 so that detection error due to temperature change can be avoided.
