To provide a refrigerator of high safety using a combustible refrigerant for its refrigerating cycle and preventing errors in detecting the leakage of the refrigerant.

The refrigerator is provided with a refrigerator compartment; a freezer compartment; a refrigerating cycle using the combustible refrigerant wherein a compressor, a condenser and an evaporator are connected to each other; and a low pressure side refrigerant leakage detection means for detecting that the refrigerant has leaked or will leak from the low pressure side of the refrigerating cycle. A detection error prevention control means is provided which continues normal cooling operation and temporarily stops high-voltage electric components in the refrigerator (S8) when the detecting means detects that the refrigerant has leaked or will leak from the low pressure side (S7).
