To provide a refrigerator capable of preventing separation of an hinge pin at an upper section of a door in self-closing of the door while improving self-closability of the door.
The door 2 has a mounting hole 20. A hinge retaining member 3 is disposed on a refrigerator body 1, and has a through hole 30. The hinge pin 4 is inserted into the through hole 30 and the mounting hole 20 for mounting the door 2 rotatably to the refrigerator body 1. A cover member 5 is mounted on the refrigerator body 1, and covers the hinge retaining member 3 and the hinge pin 4. A lower hinge section 6 is used for mounting the door 2 rotatably to the refrigerator body 1. The lower hinge section 6 has a self-closing mechanism 60 for rotating and guiding the door 2 in the closing direction while lowering. The cover member 5 has a pressing section 50 for constantly elastically applying downward force to the hinge pin 4.
