Title:
REFRIGERATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013087982
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To keep a stored food preservation temperature optimal regardless of a storage state in a refrigerator to improve food freshness preserving performance and to restrain power consumption through the prevention of "excessive refrigeration" of stored food.

The refrigerator includes top face LEDs 20a, 20b installed inside a refrigerating chamber 12, and a main optical sensor 21a which is an optical sensor for detecting irradiation light. The main optical sensor 21a is installed in a recess provided in a side face of the refrigerating chamber 12. Since the main optical sensor 21a does not receive direct light from the top face LEDs 20a, 20b, it can detect only the indirect irradiation light including light reflected by the stored food and estimate the whole storage state in the refrigerating chamber 12 by estimating the storage state of the stored food based on the illuminance attenuation in the refrigerating chamber 12.
