To keep a stored food preservation temperature optimal regardless of a storage state in a refrigerator to improve food freshness preserving performance, and to suppress power consumption through the prevention of "excessive refrigeration" of stored food.
The refrigerator includes top face LEDs 20a, b and side face lower LEDs 20h installed inside a refrigerating chamber 12; a main optical sensor 21a and a sub-optical sensor 21b which are optical sensors for detecting irradiation light; and a blue LED 22a which is an auxiliary light emitting part for emitting light in a color different from the top face LEDs 20a, b, etc. The main optical sensor 21a, the sub-optical sensor 21b, and the blue LED 22a are provided on the same substrate. Two light detecting parts and an auxiliary light emitting part can thereby be provided at a low cost, and the respective positions are surely determined to enhance accuracy in estimating the storage state of stored food based on the illuminance attenuation at the first light detecting part.
