To provide a refrigerator capable of suppressing electric power consumption at peak time of electric power consumption, since in recent electric power conditions, promotion of energy saving is required which suppresses an electric power consumption peak when an outside air in summer is high and in specific time zones, and though conventional refrigerator control methods have contributed to energy saving, electric power consumption cannot be suppressed at peak time of electric power consumption.
A control part of a refrigerator performs a power saving mode for lowering an upper limit of maximum rotation speed of a compressor than that in a cooling mode to cool the inside of the refrigerator, when an outside air temperature is a predetermined temperature or above, or in a previously set power saving time zone.
