To provide a refrigerator that has improved energy-saving performance by reducing the heat effect of a heat dissipation pipe to sufficiently exert the heat insulation effect of a vacuum insulation material attached to a side surface of an external box.
A refrigerator includes a refrigerator body filled with a foam insulation material 4 between an external box 2 and an inner box, and a door 5a for opening and closing a front opening of the body. The refrigerator is configured such that a vacuum insulation material 9 is provided in an inner surface of the external box of the refrigerator body, the opening of the refrigerator body is configured by overlapping edges of the external box and the inner box, a heat dissipation pipe 8 is arranged between the overlapped portions of the edge of the external box and the edge of the inner box, and the edge of the inner box is positioned adjacent to the side of the vacuum insulation material of the heat dissipation pipe. This configuration allows the resin-made edge of the inner box to block the diffusion of heat toward the vacuum insulation material from the heat dissipation pipe, and accordingly, the vacuum insulation material is disposed to near the heat dissipation pipe to increase the insulation performance of the side wall increases, thus improving energy-saving performance.
