PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of detecting a lack of oil on the basis of information got from one compressor when a holding amount of oil in a device is decreased to show a state of lack of oil.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a refrigerator in which an oil cycle is constituted by an oil supply differential pressure type double-stage compressor, an oil separator, an oil tank and an oil cooler so as to supply oil to a shaft bearing part with a differential pressure between an oil supply pressure and an intermediate pressure. The refrigerator comprises a discharging temperature sensor for detecting a discharging temperature of the compressor, a discharging pressure sensor for detecting a discharging pressure of the compressor, and a discharging pressure sensor for detecting an intermediate pressure of the compressor. A controlling operation is carried out to detect a lack of oil of the refrigerator when a discharging pressure is in an allowable variation range [203], the intermediate pressure is in an increasing trend [202] and the discharging temperature [201] is increased up to a value equal to or more than a first irregular determination value on the basis of the discharging temperature detected by the discharging temperature sensor, a discharging pressure detected by the discharging pressure sensor and an intermediate pressure detected by the discharging pressure sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
