Abstract:
To provide a refrigerator capable of improving user's sense of security.SOLUTION: A refrigerator in an embodiment has a housing, a door, a light irradiation unit, a detection unit, and a control unit. The housing has a storage chamber. The door closes the storage chamber so as to be openable and closable. The light irradiation unit irradiates the inside of the storage chamber with light having an effect of suppressing viruses or fungi. The detection unit detects a predetermined state corresponding to the presence of a person. When the light irradiation unit is turned on with the door closed and the predetermined state is detected by the detection unit with the door closed, the control unit turns off the light irradiation unit or suppresses the lighting of the light irradiation unit before the door is opened.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
