PURPOSE: To make smooth opening and closing of an inner door, expand the volume of an exclusive chamber, and reduce an invalid volume within a refrigerator by forming the exclusive chamber in the refrigerator with use of the inner door, the refrigerator including a frontally opening arcuated door, and forming the inner door into a shape conforming to the internal surface configuration of a door.
CONSTITUTION: A door 15 of an upper freezing chamber 7 is bent into an arcuated shape conforming to a door 16, and a surface of a door pocket 39 on the side of the freezing chamber 7 is also bent into an arcuated shape, whereby the volume of the door pocket 39 and the heat insulation thickness of the door 15 are secured. There are provided parallely right and left an ice making chamber 38 and an exclusive chamber 37 blocked frontally thereof by an inner door 40 on the lower part in the freezing chamber 7 by a horizontal partition plate 35 and a vertical partition plate 36. The front edge of the partition plate 36 exhibits an arcuated shape along the door pocket 39, and hence also the inner door 40 is formed into a plate arcuated in its cross section along the front edge configuration of the partition plate 36. The inner door 40 is engaged with the supported by a rail 41 movably right and left. Hereby, opening and closing of the inner door 40 are made smooth, and hence the exclusive chamber is expanded in its volume, and an invalid volume in the refrigerator is reduced.
