PURPOSE: To efficiently deodorize in a refrigerator without improving capacity of a compressor by so circulating the air in the refrigerator as to be forcibly brought into contact with catalyst via a through hole having a fan provided near a heat generator.
CONSTITUTION: The refrigerator comprises a cold storage chamber 1, a heat exchanger 7, a heat generator 2 having a catalyst coating layer 13 having deodorizing capacity and arranged on an outer periphery under the exchanger 7 in such a manner that a space including the exchanger 7, the generator 2 and the layer 13 is isolated by the chamber 1 and a wall 3 and two through holes 4, 5 are provided at the wall 3 near the generator. A fan 6 is provided in one 4 of the holes 4, 5, a through hole 9 communicating with a freezing chamber 8 is provided above the exchanger 7, and the air in the chamber 1 is forcibly brought into contact with the layer 13 by the fan 6 provided near the generator 2.
