PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of the captioned refuse conveyance device in a multiple dwelling house or the like by detecting the pressure change or the air flow change near as refuse container landing point at the internal bottom of a vertical pipe so a to grasp the descending state of the refuse container.
CONSTITUTION: When a refuse container 2 is thrown in through a hopper 4, the refuse container 2 falls through a vertical pipe 3. The container 2 falls in a condition that the refuse container 2 compresses the air below itself because the outside diameter of the container 2 is only a little smaller than the inside diameter of the vertical pipe 3 and, furthermore, the bottom end of the vertical pipe 3 is tightly closed with a gate valve 5. A pressure switch 15 actuates by this compression force. And when the container 2 lands at the bottom of the vertical pipe 3, the pressure switch 15 stops its actuation. The reliability of the conveyance device can be assured for a length of time in consequence of the availability to confirm when the container was thrown in and when it landed at the bottom of the vertical pipe 3 by the 'on' and 'off' of the pressure switch 15.
