PURPOSE: To remove a filtering residue from such a filter material that is difficult for use because the filter has been used for a suspension liquid containing an inorg. suspension material flocculated with addition of an org. polymer flocculant and causes clogging, and to recover the filtering performance of the filter material to be used again.
CONSTITUTION: When a porous filter material which is clogged because the filter has been used for a suspension liquid containing inorg. suspension flocculated with an org. polymer flocculant is to be regenerated, the porous filter material can be easily washed by bringing the filter into contact with a detergent liquid containing an oxidizing agent. After washing with this detergent and with water, if necessary, the filtering performance can almost be completely recovered.
