PURPOSE: To increase the degree of regeneration of palladium salt catalyst obtained after a calcining process and an acid treating process by subjecting organic release material contg. a palladium salt catalyst to reduction and thermal decomposition at the specified temp. under the inert gas atmosphere to form a bulky spongy shape.
CONSTITUTION: The organic release material contg. a palladium salt catalyst is subjected to reduction and thermal decomposition at 330°C temp. under the inert gas atmosphere such as gaseous nitrogen to obtain the reduced and thermally decomposed material showing the bulky spongy porosity. Then, the organic material which is maintained in the state joining to or simply attaching to the porous reduced and thermally decomposed material is burned and removed by calcining the decomposed material under the atmosphere contg. oxygen. The calcined material obtained by this method is treated with acid but it is preliminarily reduced and treated by using hydrogen or an organic reducing agent and thereafter heated in nitric acid or carboxylic acid added with a small quantity of nitric acid to form the palladium salt finally.
